Surgical Resources
Surgeries may be scheduled through David McDaniel at 404-727-3685.
When you call, please
have this information ready:
- PI name on the protocol
- Animal protocol number
- FAS account number (if external to Emory, PO number)
- Surgeon name
- Procedure to be performed
- Species of animal
- ID numbers of animals
- Specifications of animal (sex, weight, etc.)
- Special prep requirements, area to be prepped, position
of animal on table
- If animal is to recover, who is providing post operative
care
Please note that:
When you schedule a surgery, you do not automatically get
scheduled for the conference room. This must be requested
separately.
You need to make sure that you have animals on hand for the
surgery and place an order for the animals if you do not.
We will schedule a transfer of animals to the surgical resource,
but we do need to know where they are housed and the ID number(s)
of the animal(s) requested.

Conference Room
The conference rooms may be scheduled through Rachelle Sparks
at 404-727-3248.
Our conference room has a maximum capacity of 18 students.
It is equipped with a slide projector, white board, and projector
screen. LCD projectors may be ordered through Media Services
and delivered to the division. Catering is allowed in the
conference room area, but food and drink may not leave the
room and go into the animal facility.
