Information Request and Site Visits By Sponsors

Grant Preparation

The conduct of audits of the institutional animal care and use program and/or site visits by external, non-governmental sponsors of research contracts or awards are coordinated through the Director of Licensing of Emory's Office of Technology Transfer (OTT). The OTT centralized role assures proper confidentiality, ensures proper signatories and authorizations of legal documents, provides a bridge to the Office of Sponsored Programs, and arranges for the IACUC and Division of Animal Resources (DAR) to gather requested information and restricted documents as approved by senior leadership, complete sponsor-provided questionnaires, and participate as appropriate in the conduct and support of site visits. The expenses of DAR participation in the process will be recouped from the start-up costs of the award/contract and may include all reasonable associated expenses including the salary and fringe benefit for engaged personnel and related general and administrative costs.
